About

I'm Tina Grimes, the Ancestry Chick. You might also know me as the Art Chick (of Art Chick Studio). I have many passions, chief among them being Art and Genealogy. When I was growing up I wanted to be a private detective (watching too much Charlie's Angels was bound to have an effect), and Genealogy allows me to do that. There's something so fun about sleuthing my way through my family tree. It's a never-ending quest that never gets boring.

I've done genealogy off and on since the early 1990's. I got away from it for quite awhile when I was in college and then teaching full time. But my mother, Carolyne Gould, was a professional genealogist; and when she passed away in 2012, I decided to pick up her torch and carry on in her memory. I've made some wonderful finds since then, and I've hit quite a few brick walls. But I never seem to tire of the hunt for my ancestral past.
